On February 3rd 2010 Ann O’Toole facilitated an event on Joining the Learning Revolution. Groups of self organised learners who did not know each other previously but have the common interest in learning something new gathered together to figure out how to set up “learning circles”.
The principle of our work is that everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn.
This is an opportunity to take a significant step forward in the development of a new national infrastructure which will support a real world of social networking.
We aim to create a network of individual citizens and develop the infrastructure and support needed to enable them to establish informal Learning Circles.
As a result, at the Selby Centre we have established 3 learning circles:
We are committed to lowering our carbon footprint as a learning, social and economic community. By doing so we will save money and generate employment in the "green economy".
