Windrush Day 2021

Windrush Day takes place on 22 June - A special day to remember when around 500 migrants from the Caribbean arrived at Tilbury Docks in Essex in 1948.

All week, between 21 and 27 June, at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre with a family friendly multi-arts festival celebrating that celebrates the community and descendants of the Windrush Generation. You can find out more about week here:

Weaving Tales of Resilience - an installation and film

Weaving Tales of Resilience is a newly commissioned and community co-curated textile installation by artist Yodea Williams installed alongside a film of community voices collected by Sonia Scantlebury. This is taking place at Bruce Castle Museum on 23, 24, 25, and 27 June. Find out more and book here:
