Children’s Services in Haringey have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating for the very first time - a truly historic milestone in the council’s determined journey to transform outcomes for children and young people across the borough.
Following a rigorous two-week inspection in January 2026, Ofsted closely examined the experiences of children and young people receiving care, help and protection, alongside the council’s ongoing improvement work. The result is a powerful endorsement of the progress that has been made.
In addition to the overall Outstanding judgement, inspectors rated both the impact of leaders on social work practice with children and families, and the experiences and progress of care leavers, as Outstanding - clear recognition of the strength and consistency of Haringey’s approach.
The report shines a spotlight on the borough’s strong leadership, exceptional social work practice and a culture where the voices of children meaningfully shape decisions at every level.
