Middlesex Cricket: Call for aspiring Afro-Caribbean Cricket Coaches (Bursary & Mentorship Scheme)

Middlesex in the Community are offering a new coaching bursary and mentorship scheme in cricket for young people from Afro Caribbean backgrounds.

We will offer 100% bursaries to those young people keen on cricket, who will then work with us to deliver cricket programmes in the borough and wider county. No prior playing experience is needed – just passion.

The deadline for applications to the bursary programme is September 10^th, 2026.

• Foundation (Level 1) Course Details:

• Dates: Sunday, September 20^th & September 27^th

• Timings: 10 am to 5 pm

• Venue: Middlesex Indoor Cricket School, Finchley

• Eligibility: 18 years +

What Middlesex in the Community is offering through the programme?

• Foundation Level 1 Course, England & Wales Cricket Board accredited (September 20^th & 27^th from 10 am to 5 pm in Finchley)

• An individual mentorship scheme that will help qualified coaches gain experience, guidance on cricket coaching at clubs, schools and community centres.

• Access to free coaching kit and enable individuals to begin their cricket coaching journeys.

• Tickets to Middlesex matches at Lord’s Cricket Ground for next season.

What it means to be a qualified Level 1 Coach?

• Opportunity to be a paid cricket coach with Middlesex in the Community at £20 per hour and join the cricket workforce. This involves soft-ball coaching for young people between the ages of 6 to 14 years.

• Reporting participant Data from programmes you coach.

• Mentored by senior Middlesex in the Community coaches to improve your skills

• 100% bursaries towards completing Core Coach Course (Level 2) and training hard ball cricket.

• Pathways into coaching at clubs (one to one) and community centres.

• Inspiring future generations and nurturing their passion for cricket.
