New Selby Trust Banner shows just how much is happening at Centre!

Designed by The Community Energy Lab as part of the Selby Trust's Green Hub, the banner is just a brief snapshot of the activities happening at the centre, showing groups as diverse as Equals Training, Ding Dong Soft Play Adventure area, Embrace UK, Congo Empowerment Action, The Haringey Food Bank and more. The Selby Trust also works with 100+ other community enterprises, sport, religious and advice groups as well as partners including Business in the Community and Locality.

The Selby Centre, which is located in an area of high deprivation, now acts as a key driver in support for local skills and work, environmental awareness and recycling and support for numerous charitable and social partnerships across Haringey. Since 1992, it has operated from the Selby Centre in Tottenham, in former school premises, which the Trust manages as a multi-purpose community and social enterprise centre, with a 25 year lease from LB Haringey. The site is 150,000 square feet, with offices, meeting rooms, training facilities, sports and events halls and a large car park.

Since 2012 2013 the Selby Trust has supported more than 100 ex-offenders and unemployed individuals with meaningful work experience and helped achieve 18 local jobs. Through the Global Garden, Kitchen project the Selby Trust has also raised more than £13,000 towards a community food garden and learning project, receiving more than 170 donations crowd-funded with the help of local people and businesses. We’ve also hosted 7 corporate volunteering days, the Big Challenge, Haringey Organisations Networking Party and Congolese Achievement Awards as well as 9 Locality community Organisers.

The Selby Trust has been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark in recognition of its values and investment in the local community. 80% of Selby Trust funding is self-generated.
