Last week, we saw the first Selby Holiday Activity and Food Provision, in partnership with Haringey Council and funded by the Department for Education.
This was set up with the aim to provide free school meals and sporting/enrichment activities to local children within our community during the Easter holiday. Lunch took place in the recently newly built greenhouse next to the Sports Hall, with many thanks to Haringey Sixth Form College for the furniture donations!
The week included sport activities such as Basketball, Boxing, Dance and Volleyball, as well as Enrichment Workshops for children who participated.
The week was a great success, with over 170 in attendance throughout the week-long pilot.
The Holiday Activity & Food Provision will be returning for the Summer Holidays at the Selby Centre. Stay tuned to our website for news on this, and the latest on upcoming sporting activities in the meantime!
