Excitement spreads across North London as the Selby Amateur Boxing Club is set to open their new facility at the Selby Centre tomorrow (Friday 13th February).
The launch event will include Olympic Gold Medallist James DeGale; Former WBO Middleweight Interim Champion Jason Matthews and Former Commonwealth and European Heavyweight Champion; Derek Williams.
Selby Trust Chief Executive Sona Mahtani said:
“We are delighted to be supporting such an exciting project. Obesity is a big issue facing young people in White Hart Lane. We need to create solutions to help children and families deal with it. Moreover, young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, want to be active, confident, stimulated and expend energy in constructive ways - what better way than boxing!”
