As we celebrate the 21st Birthday of the Selby Trust this year we are proud to host a special event bringing together Social Enterprise Mark holders in London.
The event on March 5th 2013 will be held with partners Big Issue Invest, Social Enterprise Mark and Connection Crew, with awards being presented by the Mayor of Haringey to new organisations with the Social Enterprise Mark - affirming our shared commitment to people and planet by ethically investing profit in communities, social projects and th environment.
In November the Selby Trust was awarded the Mark as a result of dedication to improving the community and our fast growing Green Hub - incubating on-site enterprises Wood Works Wonders and the Community Energy Lab.
It means that we care about what we do, so you can feel even better about getting involved in our initiatives and community events.
Other ethical businesses that have been recognised by being awarded the Mark include Age UK Enterprises, The Eden Project, Big Issue and more locally at Supamums Support Services and the Community Network.
'Meet the Mark' at the Selby Centre will be a chance to celebrate the sucess of new mark holders in the local area and meet leaders in existing Social Enterprise and business. The afternoon will feature a number of talks from key actors and entrepreneurs including Lucy Findlay, Managing Director of The Mark and Nigel Kershaw, from Big Issue and Big Invest as well as offering further opportunities to get involved with Social Enterprises projects and plans for the future. Social Enterprise Mark Awards will be presented by the Mayor of Haringey, Cllr David Browne.
Refreshments - including fantastic cultural cuisine - will be provided throughout the day.
Attendees are asked to arrive around 1.30pm for a 2pm start and the afternoon will finish at 4pm. Spaces are strictly limited, so book early to avoid disappointment! You can register with eventbrite at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/5358627800#
