UKSPF Summer Party highlights participant success!

The end of summer party held at the Selby Centre at the start of September 2024 celebrated those who had graduated from phase 1 of our business to business support programme.

The event featured keynote speaker Mani Arthur who is a competitive cyclist and founder of Black Cyclists Network (BCN), the biggest organisation in Europe aimed at encouraging Black people to get into cycling delivering an empowering speech on the development of his business.

Led by Project Manager and Project Assistant, Gillian Benneh and Unique West-Alese respectively, the event was a great opportunity for networking and mingling with businesses and those who had graduated from the programme.

Graduates were as part of the event awarded with certificates from Kingston University showcasing the success of being in attendance in over 70% of the UKSPF phase 1 workshops.

Workshops on the programme included how to set up a website, an Introduction to AI as well as employee motivation and reward systems, all as part of the Selby Enterprise Programme which kickstarted earlier this year.

With additional thanks to Jerk Garden for providing catering during the event.

The event concluded with our Development Manager Jack Skinner informing those in attendance of our ambitious plans for the future through the Selby Urban Village scheme, as well as Gillian providing information on phase 2 of the UKSPF programme and how those in attendance can participate and support.

The event was a great opportunity to celebrate the success of phase 1 graduates. Congratulations!

Attending the UKSPF Summer Party was inspiring as I celebrated the success of phase 1 graduates, including motivational speeches and networking opportunities. The insights shared, especially from Mani Arthur, resonated deeply. With so much to digest, I thought, I could really use help to write my essay NZ, ensuring I reflect these experiences in my work.
